Setting Up Enhanced e-Commerce On Shopify
If you are not that much tech savvy, it can be little tricky for you to set up enhanced e-commerce tracking on your Shopify store. But don’t worry, our step by step guide will help you out.
In this post, we will show you up how to install Shopify enhanced e-commerce with and without Google Tag Manager. So, without any further ado, let’s get started.
Step: 1 Before you start installing Shopify enhanced e-commerce, make sure Google Analytics is correctly installed on your store. Otherwise, you will not be able to install it.
Step: 2 Next, log in to your Google Analytics account and go to the option “All Website Data”
Step: 3 Go to the “Admin” section of your Google Analytics View and click on “Ecommerce Settings” option available under the “View” column.

Step 4: Now set up your e-commerce setting as follow:
Note: Do not miss step-4 otherwise your Google Analytics view will not accumulate any enhanced eCommerce data from Shopify.
Step 5: Since Shopify does not support “Checkout Labeling”, it is better you leave this option.
Note: Remember that, if you use Shopify enhanced e-commerce tracking your “Checkout behavior Analysis will not work.
Step 6: Next, hit the “Submit” button.
Congratulations! Your Google Analytics view is ready to get enhanced e-commerce data.
Step7: Now set up Sales funnel in Google Analytics to understand the checkout behavior of your store.

Now your Shopify store will be able to generate below virtual pageviews for each checkout step.
You can use these virtual pageviews as funnel steps in Google Analytics.
Step 8: Now log into your store and click on the option “Preferences”. You will find it in “Online Store” drop-down menu.
Step: 9 Next, navigate to the “Google Analytics Section” and then check the box says “Use Enhanced eCommerce”.
Step:10 Finally, hit the “Save” button.
That’s all you have to do. Now enhanced eCommerce tracking is installed on your Shopify store.
Step 11: After getting a new order on your store, navigate to “Shopping Behavior Analysis Report” available inside “Conversions”-> “eCommerce” in your Google Analytics view.
Now you will be able to see the eCommerce data like one is listed below.
Step:12 Go to “Funnel Visualization” report available under “Conversions” ->”Goals”
Step 13: Choose the goal you built earlier. You will find it in the “Goals” drop-down menu:
